There are many circumstances in life that effect the saftey of your pets!
Please rememeber your pet - they are part of your family! Make sure they stay safe!

Our Cattery is located in Hurricane Alley! We always have to be ready to pick up and leave - just in case!
Make sure if severe weather is heading your way - you are prepared!
Make a Survival kit for your pets!
This should include the following:
If you are unable to evacuate with your pet -- please take the time to make safe arrangements for your pets! There are many shelters that will house pets temporarly during disasters! (keep in mind - up to date shots are a must! or you will be turned away! The saftey of MANY pets are at stake in emergency situations!)
American Red Cross facilites can NOT accept pets due to health codes -- so PLEASE PLEASE call ahead -- try hotels - if there is a "no pet" policy - ask if it can be waived for an emergancy situation -- call friends and relatives and arrange to stay with them!
If you must evacuate -- just DO NOT leave your pets behind!

Always keep up to date photos of your pets incase you have a runaway, lost, or stolen pet!
Visit your local Animal Services/Control facilities to make sure your pet has not been picked up!
Check ALL your local shelters! (you can find a list of local shelters for your county at Animal Control)
Contact the Above every 2-3 days until your pet is home!
Other tips in finding your pet!
Do not give up hope! Your pet is out there! Be persistant and do not give up! Bring your pet home!
*Chemicals can be absorbed through a cat's paws. Floor waxes and cleaning solutions pose a particular danger.
*Human painkillers such acetaminophen (Tylenol) are highly toxic to cats.
*The majority of aerosol sprays contain poison and should never be sprayed near a cat's food.
*Coins can choke a cat and should never be left around. Pennies minted after 1982 pose an added danger as they contain zinc which is toxic.
*Watch out for insence oils! Cats are curious and can inhale the oil!
